Keratosis pilaris is a common skin condition that causes tiny bumps that typically appear on upper arms, thighs, cheeks or buttocks. The bumps are not painful or itchy but the skin in that area is dry and rough. Symptoms often worsen with seasonal changes (dry – low humidity conditions).
Kerotosis Pilararis is a imbalance of Pitta dosha. To bring Pitta disorder into balance, it takes 6-8 weeks of treament and this is something you can do it at home using Neeta Naturals products. Here is my recommended 30-45 day protocol that includes skin care regimen and dietary changes.
Dietary Changes: FOODS TO AVOID: Please avoid potatoes, celery, spinach, cauliflower, cabbage, eggplant,
broccoli and any bitter or sour foods such as pickles, sauerkraut or bitter guard. It is also important to eliminate all spicy foods especially black pepper and green chilies.
Dietary Changes: FOODS TO INCLUDE: Add more zucchini, lettuce, cucumbers, cilantro, rice and fresh organic dairy to your diet. Include buttermilk in your diet every day. If you buy market made buttermilk then dilute it with water and add a pinch of salt (red is better) and cumin powder. Please drink it only during the day. Soups are good as are mung beans and lentils but please make sure to soak them couple hours before use.
Here are the list of fruits which will help you get faster results– mangoes, pears, apples, coconut, melons, oranges, plums and pomegranate, and grapes,
Meal time: Eating means at the same time every day and keeping a minimum of 5-6 hours between meals is ideal.
In her video, Neeta mentions the benefits of Eladi Oil. Eladi Oil is a traditional Ayurveda remedy used for face and body care often used for Abhiyanga self massage. The ancient Ayurveda recipe infuses herbs in sesame oil and a water decotion to extract both oil and water soluble phyto-active components of these beneficial herbs. It has been used for centuries for soothing irritated skin conditions including eczema and dry skin. Known to improve complexion, skin texture and reduce appearance of acne and eczema scars.
Neeta’s Keratosis Pilaris Protocol:
Step 1: Wash the affected area with Neem Soap and massage gently while damp with Eladi Body Oil. You can also use Organic coconut oil + Turmeric (2 pinch turmeric in 1 table spoon coconut oil)
Step 2: Use Neeta Naturals Ayurvedic Ubtan and Neem Glow face mask on the affected area. Use twice a week for 4 weeks, alternating masks each use.
Step 3: After rinsing off Ayurvedic Ubtan or Neem Glow mask., massage with Neem Kiss Body Oil.
Nasya Therapy
Another important part of your protocol is to do Nasya therapy for 30 days.
Nasya (Putting oil/ghee into your nostril ) should be done by warming (just to tepid not hot!) coconut oil or ghee and using 2 to 3 drops in the nose. This helps to lubricate the nose which in turns helps to build the beneficial flora and keep bad bacteria from being able to take hold and create disease.
Remember this is a 30- 45 day treatment plan. Please check back with me, let me know if you have any questions or updates on your progress.
Wishing you all the good health and well-being!
Thank you for choosing Neeta Naturals for your skincare essentials.
